Living the Dream

The world is our stage
We are born to make a scene
Whether it is good or bad
Simply follow in my lead

Be sure you are well behaved
Make them notice me and say
What an amazing Dad you are
Your children sit still and pray

Always say, “Yes sir or ma’am”
It must be obvious you see
That being a part of this family
Is as positive as positive can be

If I decide we love you
What a great waitstaff you are
I’ll direct my kids to present dollar bills
To you while onlookers look on

However nice as I am
I don’t tolerate the rude
If I sniff an attitude
I’ll be forced to straighten out the mood

If you roll your eyes at me
Or huff at me in a way
That makes me feel uncomfortable
Hold your breath while I sway

Spewing critique at your manager
For hiring someone like you
With the goal to make you cry
And comp this horrifying food

Life is incredibly boring
If we aren’t being seen
There needs to be some drama
To make it worth living the dream
